This exped mat has a larger diameter deflation valve that makes fast work of packing up the pad. The only reason i give this a four star rating because i also tried the q core slx and found that pad to be slightly more comfortable. The big agnes air core scored poorly in our review but may be a good budget option if you can t afford a more luxurious sleeping pad. The pad i initially bought was the big agnes insulated air core.

Because it isn t insulated we don t recommend this pad if you expect to encounter snow or cold weather. I paired the pad with the big agnes encampment 15 sleeping bag. It isn t our favorite but it is much more comfortable than many self inflating pads. At 3 5 thick you won t be worried about the ground beneath you and because the pad is insulated it will help keep you warm in 30 degree temperatures.

The big agnes pad also takes four or five times as long to deflate since the air must exit the pad through the same tiny mouth piece.
